SO, TO CONNECT we must allow ourselves to be seen as the person we most truly are. Connecting is therefore a courageous task, as no matter how comfortable we are in our skin, sharing what is fragile within us, from the scars of the past to the hopes of the future, always leaves us exposed to the potential of being hurt, to the humiliation and heartbreak glaring hungrily up at us from the canyon floor.

 

 

And connection makes us vulnerable to witnessing fragility and struggle in others, a sight which also may cause us pain.

 

In these ways, connection is risky, yet it also unlocks some of the greatest possibilities of human experience.
